Facebook users will soon open their Messenger apps and discover M, a new virtual assistant.
The M virtusl Assistant, can answer questions with live human help and perform tasks such as buying gifts online and booking restaurants.
M is powered by artificial intelligence that’s trained and supervised by people. Companies from Google to Taskrabbit are engineering products to act as superpowered personal assistants. Some, like Apple’s Siri, Google Now, or Microsoft’s Cortana, rely entirely on technology, and though they can be used by a lot of people, their range of tasks remains limited.
M is a hybrid backed by a team of Facebook employees with customer service backgrounds, called M trainers, who can also make travel arrangements and appointments.
Facebook’s goal is to make Messenger the first stop for mobile discover.
I think this is cool. If you have comments on this, please feel free to share with us ;[livefyre_livecomments]
